TD2 is a subsidiary of world-class research organization the Translational Genomics Research Institute, or TGen.
As such, TD2 was designed to support discoveries from the bench, and take them to the bedside with the same excellence as the research conducted at TGen.
Here with me to talk more about this is TGen president and research director, Dr. Jeffrey Trent.
Question: Dr. Trent, how does TD2 help fulfill the mission of TGen?
Answer: The mission of TGen is fulfilled by TD2 largely because of our emphasis on having groundbreaking research with life-changing results. Those results involve the creation of new tests and the deployment of new drugs.
Q: How is TD2 different from other drug development companies? What strengths do they offer clients?
A: One of the unique aspects of TD2 is their ability to leverage TGen, but also its focus on the deliverables associated with (clinical)-trial development, and the framework for merging research and the clinic (trials) with a clear goal in mind of adding value to the given molecule. So, rather than specifically just reacting to the requests of an individual (company), this gives us an opportunity to work with them in a way to add value to these molecules and especially to add value to the path-to-approval going forward.

Q: As a TGen subsidiary, what can new clients expect to receive from their relationship with TD2?
A. TD2 and its clients can expect to have access to the talent and the experience of the TGen team. TGen's a discovery-based, non-profit research group, but it participates in developing and using many of the latest drug development technologies to achieve personalized therapeutics. So, TD2's clients can realize significant advantage to gain early access to those technologies, which may aid in identifying the right population to support the success of a given clinical trial.

Q: In closing, what aspects of TD2 make it the clear choice for clients looking for a CRO to shepherd their drug through the development and trial process?
A: I think the one-stop shop of TD2 makes it a clear choice for clients. There's that opportunity to actually have experience in the area of clinical trials with given success and the movement of drugs to approval. There's the opportunity to have new technologies and to be able to partner with a group that is really involved in identifying the right population in support of a trial. And finally, again, I think there's just that sense of urgency that a client can expect from this team to not only meet expectations but exceed them going forward.
